Scuba regulators and cylinders work at extremely high pressures and use innovative engineering techniques to function correctly. Regulators should be serviced at regular intervals, depending on the amount of use they have and the time intervals between uses. Cylinders, on the other hand, are subject to strict regulations with regard to servicing. A visual inspection, checking for damage from moisture or impact and to determine a cylinder's suitability for continued service, is required every 2 ½ years. Hydrostatic testing on scuba cylinders must be performed every 5 years, which monitors the expansion and subsequent shrinkage of the cylinder when it is subjected to extreme pressure. It should be remembered that if your cylinder’s tests are out of date, or it is in poor condition, a reputable air fill station will refuse to fill it. All of Buddies Dive Centre scuba servicing is completed in-house and on site.
